TrueLeague Newsletter 4/11/24
Hello TrueLeague Families! Another exciting week wrapped up in TrueLeague! Even with Spring Break, players were able to get extra reps and game time with a smaller amount of players. No TL Players of the Week, but feel free to check out last week’s Newsletter to see those players!
The focus of practice for the week of 4/1 - 4/05
Motion offense has been a focus as we continue to build on passing and cutting consistently to give players the best opportunities to score.
Footwork continues to be a pillar at every practice. More and more we are seeing players pick up good habits when it comes to their footwork overall.
Shell Defense focuses primarily on players being in “help” defense and playing off the ball. This is a difficult concept to grasp, but one that can be very helpful once learned
Dribble Hand-off is a great tool for players to use when they get into trouble with the ball in their hands. We put a big emphasis on this during the week to add another tool to players’ skillset.
Summer camp is back
Our summer hoop camps continue to be our biggest and most successful programs of the year and we encourage all TrueLeague players to join a session. It is the most in-depth basketball experience we offer, so we are very excited to see all of our players attending! Spots are filling up very fast and camps begin a week after our season ends! TL Level Up this Sunday!
I have been loving the commitment of our players in TrueLeague looking for all opportunities to improve their game. I implore all players to take advantage of our TL Level Up training every Sunday! Please reach out if you have any questions!
Increasing parent hoop understanding:
This is a great way for young players to hear from the absolute best in the game the things they need to work on. A big thing you hear is about the fundamentals of the game and how important it is for young players to grasp those things first. Without that base, it will be very hard for any players to grow and get better on their basketball journey. In TrueLeague, our main focus is building a great basketball player and that is why during practice we work hard to provide a landscape where players can become fundamentally sound to give themselves an advantage over players who may not focus on it as much. We encourage all parents to promote these things go forward as well to ensure both parent and player are on the same page.
We crave to learn and grow. The best way for us to grow is with your valued feedback. Please use the above link anytime to let us know how things are going (positives and negatives) for the TrueLeague. There’s an option to get in contact with an HQ member in the link as well. We look forward to hearing from you!
