TrueLeague Newsletter 3/21/2024

What a great first week of the TRUEEEEEEEE! We had some real competitive games and made some solid trades to balance teams. I am looking forward to seeing these teams in the upcoming week compete against one another. Starting next week, we will begin to have our Stay Hungry Players of the Week. These are players who exemplify the Team Esface values and showcase a high ability to work hard and listen to their coaches. Its a culmination of a fantastic week of practice, ending with a good performance in their games on Friday. The first regular season of the game is this week! Let’s go! Please look forward to this in upcoming editions of the newsletter!

Practice Focus for the Week:

  • Working out of a pass and cut offense. A large majority of what we want the players to focus on defense is to be able to move without the ball and embrace team play. Working on individual skill work paired with the team concepts we went over on Wednesday. Excited to see these concepts used on Friday!

  • We continued to focus on dealing with footwork from pivoting, shooting off of two feet, and ultimately, making sure that we have clean footwork so players don’t travel. Coach Barton has made it a big focal point of this first month to make sure every player has really sound footwork to help accelerate their growth

summer camp is back!

Camp is back! PrimeTime camp is the perfect way to keep your Esface player locked in! This is the most immersive program we offer, so I highly encourage all players to join! We also have our March Madness promo live, so please utilize this code before the end of March. The code is: HC24FAMONLYMAR20. The link to the Primetime website is teamesface.com/primetime.

trueleague level-up this Sunday!

TrueLeague Level-Up is back for another session this Sunday! Reminder, that this is an optional training exclusively for the players within TrueLeague, but all players need to register first! All players in TrueLeague can always improve, so finding some extra training time will always help them get a leg up on other players! Here is the link to the TrueLeague Level-Up: Level-Up Registration.

increasing parent hoop knowledge:

Damian Lillard is one of the most efficient and lethal shooters in today’s NBA. This clip is great for a multitude of reasons, with the main one being about how putting in work and getting reps is the only way to become great at a certain skill. This is a key point as all players need to continue to build up extra reps for them to grow. Skill building is not an overnight process and requires a lot of time and focus to produce the outcomes that they want. This also helps build their confidence in their overall game. Players tend to struggle with confidence issues when they miss shots, make mistakes, etc. Players can only gain more consistent confidence by putting in the proper work and keeping a positive mindset throughout. If a player is putting up hundreds of shots on their off time, they will naturally have a higher confidence level when they are shooting those same shots in games. We encourage all parents to continue building their players up and keep their mindset positive even if they are struggling in the particular game they are playing. It’s very important for helping your players grow as they look to parents for validation, so naturally they will care what their parents think about their play.
