Black Club Competes at Dream it and G365

Black Club was well-represented throughout the Bay Area two weekends ago at the BullDawgs Dream It tournament and G365 New Year’s Bash. The 4th Grade Goers had a strong showing, winning their division of the Dream It tournament in decisive fashion, while the 6th Grade Goers had a third place finish in a competitive Gold Division at G365. The 5th Grade Goers also had a highlight win over Team Arsenal which included a game-winning layup from Mason Veinstein! Let’s keep leveling up as we prepare for Portland!

For the final time this season, we wanted to take a moment to shoutout all of our top scorers from our Black Club Testing this month!

The Splash Boy of the Month is given to the top scorer in our shooting drills. We combine our Star and 72 shooting drills to take the top overall makes, with a max score of 24. 3rd-5th grade shoot from mid-range while 6th-8th grade shoot from 3-point range.

The Fastest Feet of the Month is given to the winner of our NBA Box drill. This requires an athlete to sprint, slide, and backpedal within a short distance.

The Marathon Man is given to the winner of our 17 drill. We record the overall score in seconds and see how fast an athlete can touch the sideline going back-and-forth 17 times. Congratulations to all of our winners!

Alumni Spotlight: TJ O’Brien Commits to Chapman

Sacred Heart Prep senior TJ O’Brien will be continuing his academic and athletic career at Chapman University next season! We’re excited to see his next chapter after growing up in our Black Club prior to his high school career. Featuring four Esface alumni in their starting lineup, Sacred Heart is currently 16-4 on the year and a perfect 6-0 in league play. The Bay Area News Group currently ranks them as the 12th best team in the Bay Area and NorCalPreps currently ranks them as the 18th best team in Northern California. Excited to watch the Gators in the postseason and follow TJ throughout his college career!

Coming Up…

We decided to enter the Nor Cal Hoop Summit this weekend for a Saturday-only event as we gear up for Portland. After a wide range of experiences at the BullDawgs event, we wanted to add an extra slate of games to make up for the experience and help our academy’s continued growth as we near the end of the season. Be sure to check TeamSnap for your schedule and please mark your availability on TeamSnap so we know our roster for the weekend. We completely understand if players already have plans and will be accommodating.

Next weekend we’ll be playing in another Saturday-only event at the 4BallersOnly Kick-Off Showcase. Take the Sunday to enjoy watching the 49ers play in the Super Bowl! We’ll be taking off for Portland the following week and hope we’ll be ready to compete!

We crave to learn and grow. The best way for us to grow is with your valued feedback. Please use the above link anytime to let us know how things are going (positives and negatives) for the Black Club. There’s an option to get in contact with an HQ member in the link as well. We look forward to hearing from you!
