Hoop Review NorCal Spring Showcase recap

Our College Prep program wrapped up the Spring season at the NorCal Spring Showcase hosted by Hoop Review this past weekend. While shorthanded, 17U competed with close losses to Jam On It and Rose City Ballers. 16U and 15U both left with a 1-1 split against quality competition which included some 15U players playing up with the 16U squad. It capped a strong Spring season for our programs who will get back on the tournament scene in July after playing with their high school squads in June.

17U Ranked #1 ON grassroots XL Circuit

After going 8-0 on the Grassroots XL circuit, our 17U team was recognized as the #1 ranked team in the GXL. This features elite independent teams from the states of California, Arizona, Washington, Nevada, Oregon, and Idaho. While an 18-game winning streak was snapped this weekend, 17U had one of the top Spring seasons of any team on the West Coast.

Introducing the Team Esface Showcase

We’re excited to announce our three-team Team Esface Showcase on June 20th for our 17U squad! We’ve invited two competitive programs in the Bay City Warriors and NBBA UA Rise to come compete in a three-game showcase at Menlo College. This will be during an evaluation period for NCAA Division 2 and Division 3 coaches while NAIA and JUCO coaches will also be in attendance. Save the date and TeamSnap has been updated!

Coming Up…

With no tournaments until July, Tuesday will be our annual College Prep Recruitment Night for all programs from 7:30-9pm. We’ll start with a brief tour around Menlo College before talking about the recruiting landscape and what to know going into the process. All parents are invited and bring any questions you might have.

June will pivot from practices to workouts and open gyms to allow our athletes to prioritize their high school summer leagues. June is typically a heavy month with high school teams so we adjust our schedule accordingly. 15U and 16U will have workouts or open gyms from 7-8pm while 17U will have open gyms against current and former college players from 8-9:30pm. This will give our athletes a great opportunity to see what it takes to play at the next level.

In regards to the Irvine tournament on July 22-23, we have confirmed 17U and 16U for the trip. We apologize for the delay in sending hotel information and details because we are waiting to confirm the status for 15U. This will impact our staffing and amount of rooms we’ll need for the weekend. We’ll know more by next week and will send hotel information as soon as we have it.
