Go All Out Recap

It was an exciting Saturday for our squads at the Go All Out tournament this past weekend! Four teams won their respective divisions while there were plenty of standout performances!

10U Goers went 2-0 to win the 10U Premier division which included a tight three-point win against NorCal Elite. Kian Rajgopal had the game-winning and-one in the final minute to seal the win before a 37-29 victory over Team Blaze secured an undefeated weekend.

11U Goers also won the Premier division for their age group with nail-biting 39-38 win over Team Blaze. A steal from Kepler Gumtow on the final possession locked in the win after beating NBBA 37-19 earlier in the day.

12U Hitters (pictured) took home hardware with two strong defensive performances. They took down Team Blaze in a 28-20 defensive slugfest before winning the tournament with a 30-17 win over PTR. Tommy Kizer led the way with his play on both ends of the floor.

13U Hitters had a thrilling finish to win their division after beating All Net 40-28 earlier in the day. With a tied game against the 4City 7th/8th Grade team, Coach Zarian drew up a play with just three seconds left that led to a game-winning basket from Dinny Apostolou. Great execution down the stretch!

14U Goers left 1-1 with an overtime win against All Net in the last game of the day. Nikolas Dimaano drilled the game-winning three in overtime to give Team Esface the final win of the day.

Overall, it was a successful day for the academy against strong competition. Hope everyone took Sunday to celebrate Mother’s Day!

AAU Elite Camp Almost here!

There’s only one month left before we kick-off our first AAU Elite Camp of the summer and we’re already closing in at capacity! We’d obviously prefer to fill the gym with our current Black Club athletes and continue to develop our academy with the extra court time. College Prep Check-in

With our College Prep program around the corner for some of our Black Club squads, we take a minute to highlight the successful Spring season for our 15U, 16U. and 17U teams! Our 17U team was just ranked as the #1 team in the Grassroots XL circuit, featuring the top independent programs from California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. They were 8-0 on the GXL circuit and had an 18-game win streak during the Spring.

16U and 15U were also impressive on the national stage, both winning the Golden State Gathering tournament two weekends ago. We’ve also had four members of our 2023 class commit to play at the college level: King’s Academy guard Jon Taylor (UC Merced), Burlingame guard Zaden Martin (College of San Mateo), Hillsdale guard Brady Carson (Skyline College) and St. Francis guard Kyle Maddison (Stevens Institute of Technology). Excited to see our current Black Club athletes carry on the tradition!

CoMing Up…

This weekend we’re excited to play in a strong two-day SF Rebels tournament that will continue to push our academy to compete against top teams in Northern California.
