TrueLeague Newsletter 11/2/2023

What a Fall Season! We hope that you are all enjoying the week off from the season as our Winter Season is quickly arriving. A quick reminder that the Winter season is a brand new one, so teams and coaches will be changing. This will continue to create new relationships and allow other coach outlooks for players.

stay hungry players of the week

Our Stay Hungry Players of the Week are athletes who exemplify all the qualities that make up Team Esface. Particularly, our MBHS mindset (Mind, Body, Heart, Skill), demonstrates that no matter the outcomes of their games they have shown the ability to give maximum effort and compete at a high level.

Division highlights:

2nd/3rd Grade Division:

  • All games in the last week were extremely competitive and high-level!

  • The combined points for all teams were the highest the division has produced this season. The improvement of this group’s finishing/shooting has been outstanding!

  • Collectively, this division has had the largest growth throughout the season from where they started to where they are now. Game awareness, skillset, and attitudes have all been transformed in this Fall Season.

4th/5th Grade Division:

  • Over the last two weeks, we had some exciting finishes with a few overtime thrillers and some one-possession games in the 4th/5th division!

  • Over the final two weeks, I noticed many players were focusing on getting themselves involved in the game in various ways besides scoring the basketball. That has been a focal point for the entire season, so seeing it happen at the peak point of the season was fantastic!

  • This division was exposed to some high-level teachings and concepts during this season and though it may have been difficult in the beginning, the apprehensiveness wore off quickly for many players. The coaching staff saw the eagerness to learn was there and more players were willing to try things out even if it felt knew or difficult.

6th/7th Division:

  • This division’s focus for this entire season has been on making decisions. Being decisive is incredibly important in a player’s overall game and if you struggle to make decisions then you cannot be effective.

  • This division also had the added challenge of having to play a Black Club team a few times this season which was a huge challenge that all players met head-on. The attitudes and habits of the TrueLeague players allowed them to be competitive and play a close game each time.

  • Overall, this division is always the most intense as the players are the oldest and I couldn’t be happier with how they responded to each day of practice and the challenges we presented to them. Always working hard and being decisive on the court.

OVERALL, I COULD NOT BE PROUDER OF THE ENTIRE TRUELEAGUE AS A WHOLE. GREAT JOB.
