Another fantastic week in the TrueLeague this week with the Semi-Finals of the playoffs! Lets review this last week of the season! No Stay Hungry Players this week as will save this for the very last week of the season.
Division Highlights:
2nd/3rd grade division:
One of our biggest focuses this past week in this division is to continue to share the ball on offense. Learning how to deal with situations and knowing when to pass and when not to becomes very important. Their progress throughout the season on this particular skill has gotten better week over week and I am very proud so many players are making it a priority. I look forward to their last week together for the Fall.
4th/5th grade division:
The focus for this division has been on getting involved in games. By being “involved” we talk about making an impact on the game in any way a player can. There are times when people associate shooting or dribbling the ball as the only way to get involved when in reality there are a multitude of ways a player can impact a game. Rebounding, defending, being a good teammate, or being the best passer are some of the best things a player can do. We have been putting an emphasis on doing these different things and it has helped players improve in those different aspects this season.
6th/7th division:
For this division, the focus has been on making decisions based on the plays in front of you. We talk about being able to read and react to a situation to make your move on the court. Some players make pre-determined decisions on the court and it can result in unfavorable outcomes as very rarely do things work out on the court like players plan out in their head. The improvement has been the ability to be able to take chances and hopefully create more favorable outcomes when on the court.
